Alliance Spotlight
Alliance Spotlight: deep dive into the early years inspection judgements - Personal Development 7 December 2021, 12:00PM - 1:00PM The ways in which educators support children’s character development is found in the care that is given and the sense of emotional security that is created. When provision is effective, children are prepared to take appropriate risks and challenges as they play and learn. In this session we will discuss the elements of personal development that are found in Ofsted’s grade descriptors.

In this series of four Alliance Spotlights, we take a closer look at the Early Years Inspection Handbook focusing on each of the final judgements that Ofsted will make to contribute towards an overall grade. We will discuss the aspects that are considered, using the grade descriptors for 'good' as a starting point.

There will be opportunities to explore each grade descriptor in more detail to reach a shared understanding of what it entails and to share best practice amongst participants. Each session will also include extracts from recent (anonymised) inspection reports as we consider some of the strengths and weaknesses that Ofsted identify.

In this session, we will focus on personal development.
