Alliance Insight
Developing a child's 'thinking brain' in the early years 10 April 2024, 6:30PM - 7:30PM 1 session

Young children are not born with the ability to control their own impulses, or the cognitive skills required to multitask – these are skills they require support to learn and develop.

During this Insight, we will explore what is meant by the term ‘executive function’ and how this relates to a child’s 'thinking brain'. We will discuss the importance of developing these skills within the early years as well as sharing some ideas of how to do this in practice.

We will also examine the link between executive function and self-regulation, and explore how this links to both statutory and non-statutory guidance.
